TheWackyHeads -

Are you fade up with making beautiful posters saying ” like this page & blah blah blah ” in facebook! Then you are in the right place to know the craziest ways of page publicity freely.

The article ” 20 ways to Promote Your Facebook Page ” by Justin Wise is a best way to start with. But as your page progress, you need some unique ways to popularize your fan page. You should try the craziest ways to flatter people to like your page. Let us explore the craziest ways of promotion :

1. Take help from popular
Don’t you own real and popular friends/girls/celebrity in your Fb account. It is the right time to take help from them. Asking them for help may not be so effective idea. But posting your page link on his/her wall asking ” Do you want to become Admin ” can do wonder for you. It creates a high traffic to your page for few hours. Bumper idea !

2. The art of Tagging
To get attention of people, page owners, always tries to tag as many unknowns as possible. Does it increase no. of likes ? If it works then also you can get only a maximum of 50 likes/post. You have full freedom to use tag in different way. You can tag up to 50 highly liked pages/post. If any of the tagged page owner finds your page impressive , then his 1 comment/ 1 status can give you a high level traffic. Try it.

3. Like/Comment/Share
It is the modern trend of getting popularity. Usually admin ask questions which have 3 possible answer in form of like/comment/share. For example, you post a picture of Justin Bieber with Selena Gomez with caption ” Like for Justin Bieber, Comment for Selena Gomez or Share for both “. It is the common way to get enhanced popularity with audience interest. Lolz way.

4. Homepage Popularity
Are you a regular user of your friend’s internet ? If yes, then you can take a wonderful advantage from it. Just redirect the browser’s homepage to your Fb page URL. Try this with every possible system. It may be slow process but its the easiest way to get likes in your absence ! xD

5. Take Fb fan page outside Fb
Go back to your traditional style of popularity ( repeated comments, posting URL here and there ). Enhance it. Take your posters outside Fb. Comment it here and there in top ranked Google pages. In this way you will get help from Google itself. It can create a magical change in the no. of likes of your Fb page. Awesome idea !

6. Fb Games
Do you like to play Fb games ? It is obviously yes for those who plays it. When you start playing a Fb game always try to give your username as your Fb page name. In this way you attract the gamers around the world to visit your page.

* The Golden Way
No. of likes in a page = AB^C
Where A = ( no. of links outside Fb/ no. of links inside Fb )
B = Quality of post
C = Quantity of post

Likewise , you can promote your page in various creative ideas . Its better if you choose a particular style of promotion which should be unique. Doing the things in right way will give a magical effect. But the same can do havoc if you misutilise them.

Page promotion is an art of Facebook. The way you use it decides your popularity. Don’t be lazy to implement these ideas. All the best for your page promotion.

TheWackyHeads
TheWackyHeads -

In the morning of on one fine Savitri Amavasya, a festive occasion for Odias, Mr.Dubash was very busy. He was an advocate by profession and a bully and tout by nature. He had neglected the puja marketing and hence her wife (her would be Savitri later on the day) was terribly crossed with him. That morning she had even refused to serve him his morning tea as he was late to wake up and she had already cleansed and purified the kitchen with Ganga-jal for the puja-bhog preparation for the day.

An enraged Dubash put on his ‘Being Human’ T-shirt(Mr. Being Human from now on) and set out on his bike in quest of his dose of ‘Revital’-equivalent, his ‘cup of tea’. As he was speeding towards Paglu Bhai’s tea stall for his antibiotic, Mr. Bamboo Man on cycle was coming out of an alley onto the main road, an alley whose opening was optically hindered by the protruding balcony of the building of the pot-bellied Shishu-Mandir Principal and the shops that had miraculously spawned under it encroaching onto public space.

Mr. Being Human thought that the road must be empty in the early morning. After all it was a puja day and also that he needed his antibiotic fast because without it he was feeling his potency slipping away (how would he be Satyavan then later in the day?). Mr. Bamboo Man also had the same thoughts. And hence both of their thoughts colluded and so did their vehicles. While Bamboo Man was thrown off his cycle, Being Human stayed on his bike.

Bamboo Man had manners and picked up his cycle and the bamboo lying on the road. And then he stared talking.

Bamboo Man-“Couldn’t you blow your horn sir?”
Being Human-“Rascal, you were coming to the main road. It’s you who should blow the horn.”
Bamboo Man-“Please mind your language sir. I was on a cycle and you on a motor bike. You were driving fast and should have blown the horn. Would you at least pay me my repairmen cost?”

Being Human didn’t have more than 20 bucks in his pockets and that was for his antibiotic.
Being Human-“What fucker? You come in front of my bike. You get hit and I pay you. What am I? charity-wala? It’s your fault. Just get lost now.”

And the argument gained heat. More swearing, more passing of the buck, and an ascent in the drama’s TRP. The principal came out to his balcony with his 1980 model transistor on his shoulder, his wife beside him with broom in hand. The society woman came to the site ignoring the water running waste off the ‘1-hour supply’-P.H.E.D. tap to watch the drama.

Bamboo Man-“Let’s go to police.”
Being Human-“Yeah why go. Let’s call him here.”

And Being Human called his friend Mr. Arash (arse-hole here), who was just few yards away in the tea stall. When he came with 3 other guys, the argument had gone to the level of mother and sister fucking.

The Asshole listened the case and ruled his friend innocent. He offered Bamboo Man a 10 rupee note and asked him to get away. But how would a 10 rupee note be enough to repair a cycle with twisted wheels?

Now the Bamboo Man forgot the manners and said
Bamboo Man-“Have you ever felt the labour-maad? You will piss in your pants.”
Being Human-“Have you ever felt desi-maad? You will start vibrating. Just get away bastard.”

And more words and finally the Asshole landed a slap on his cheek. His sidekicks and Mr. Being Human stood behind him.
5 on 1
Bambooman, seeing the war-ethic of man-to-man fight was being squashed, now called for his allies.
Bamboo Man-“Hello, yeah here’s an emergency and then the details of the accident and come quickly.”

And all he got for replies were:

-“Busy man! Have work. Have to go for a cement unloading.”
-“Yaara! Today’s puja. Don’t fuck around man. Come back from there.”
-Switched off
-No reply
-“He is asleep and hasn’t got over his hangover from last night.”
-“Oh! He just left to the river side for his nature’s calls…”

And it dawned upon Bamboo Man it wasn’t his day. Although the public viewers had grown now, eager to see the next step of his, he found himself alone. After all who would go against the verdict of the inspector?

At last he beat the retreat.

Being Human made a great human of him and sped off to the kiosk for his antibiotic with the Asshole on his pillion and his mates walking back.
Bamboo Man took a brick and started mending his rickety-wheel back to its circular shape, jumping on the wheel and hammering it with the brick, which soon crumbled and he had fetch yet another one.

The public clicked their tongues. Hah! Could have been a better show! And everybody beat their retreats, cursing the Bamboo Man for not putting up a good fight for all their attention and gathering. And I continued to watch all this squatting on my roof, feeding my dog biscuit after biscuit.

And Savitri Amavasya continued to be celebrated; men continued becoming Satyavan and women Savitri.
But most importantly, all were BEING HUMAN.

TheWackyHeads
TheWackyHeads -

The more you look back in time, the more dumb you fill find yourself. Facebook status updates of last year, conversations of the year back and the flirty lines used in school now can be described in one single word : LAME! The cause for writing this post is not to make you aware of what you know but to prove a point. For those who have changed, its a reflection and for those who haven’t , a guarantee that you will. We have been careless in the past, too careless in fact, without a single drop of responsibility in us. But we do grow to be responsible children and eventually affectionate parents. That sense of responsibility comes at a certain point, which turns the entire course of life around. Everybody has a moment in their lives, where they have no one, no friends, no love but a single wall stands for support, the Family. Suddenly all the scolding from dad seems relevant and all the slaps of mom feel well deserved. That is the time when we really mature, we feel the the troubles taken by our parents and the pains endured by them. Studies become more serious and money starts saving itself rather than flowing out of the pockets. This ‘Change’ comes about in us as a lightning striking out of a calm moonlit night. Today you are enjoying, wasting your life around and BAM! Tomorrow you are a changed man. Suddenly you start believing in God, respecting your elders and treating even your enemies well. There is always an incident that change your life around. You are so screwed, so fucking screwed and you have lost all signs of hope of a rescue when a miracle happens and all your pains go away. Be it God or be it family in the form of God, it saves you. The point not being how the change comes, but how well you accept it. The faster you accept it, the better. We grow everyday, develop ourselves, differentiate better among rights and wrongs, then why do we do a few childish things? Let us be responsible, give importance to those who matter, learn from our wrongs, act on thinking not impulse, and life would be so much simpler. And everyone will know us to be : A Changed Person.

TheWackyHeads
TheWackyHeads -

It’s been quite a very much of times when I have heard this quote ‘Time heals/changes everything/Time heals all wounds’ blah blah blah, and I have always wondered, does it? Until a few minutes back, I was one of those dumb asses who believed in this lame quote. No time does not heal any goddamn thing. (goddamn can be replaced by a ‘f’ word). It’s you who heals yourself, or many a times the Doctors. Provided that I am talking about the set from this Nature called Humans.

I have seen people cry over their failure, I have seen myself among those people. Like them I had always hoped on forgetting that state, to move on, to lapse time, to kill the sadness. To righteously seek vengeance to the cause of the reason that resulted on that momentary grief, to fight back and to forget. Clouded by the darkness of uncertainties and closing the door to thousands of doors of opportunities, I had sat there silently wishing to be saved. Willingly maneuvering that ‘This too shall pass’. But it didn’t. It just didn’t.

Years later, as I realize now that I have escaped from that dark gloomy world, yet ambivalent about my desires of reaching new heights, sometimes I look down, to see my past self, to realize only that time didn’t heal anything. There are only two roads from the emotional distress you are in. You can make the ladder from the woods of thoughts to escape out that labyrinth of mysterious deadly thoughts you have been swimming on, or you can use those woods to create very much the fire that you shall be burning and laying upon on.

Think again, do you really find any rationality on the above line? How can time really heal everything? Let it everything, how can it heal anything at all? It’s not time that heals everything; it’s doing things that heals everything. Not doing things leaves you where you are, waiting to be rescued by the passage of time as it leaves the same miserable and loner you in you. It does. The same way it never comes.

The best way to fight emotional distress is not clinging to hopes that somebody shall rescue you. Been there. Learned that. The pathway to your happiness can only be created by you, not luck, not prodigal characteristics, not just waiting. And while you shall be so busy at paving that road to reach your desire, time shall fly. Unnoticed. Leaving your grief dwindling upon the fear of your success. Your misery bleeding the blood of your sadness.

TheWackyHeads
TheWackyHeads -

Discretionary Disclaimer:

The facts, figures, places, events depicted in this articulate creation are purely a blend of non fictional & fictional instances which are based on non fictional ideas & incidences. Any factual resemblance, if found, to any of such facts, figures, places, events has to be purely coincidental & also unintentional.

Also several smoky pictures depicted in this article are for representational purpose & does not bear any commercial or advertisement connection; nor any attempt of creating awareness, nor any statutory warnings or some ‘issued in public interest’ kindda stuff on account of ‘World No Tobacco Day’.

So off lately, quite after a long time, again having struck off with an unusual theme while breathing the filtered air; even for the sake of revolving thoughts around to write something; so chewing, biting & churning the words, around thirty two times in countless ways, so as to digest & to create yet again another articulate creation!!..

In this world of smoke; some are active, some are passive; while rest others are actively passive. It’s like, just as hardcore smokers & chain smokers, at times, struggle for chillers, matchsticks, flame lighter, electronic lighter & countless related accessories; more or less, am not relating or comparing, but, just struggling to compile the smoky words from the burning ashes.

The creature of words inside me was restless after a long time; just as, the itchy throat craves & is thirsty for smoke; so finally struggling to feel the puff of words, throughout in the smoky paragraphs in ‘Puff of life’. As usual having searched & researched from the remains of ashes lying in the ash tray..

Going by the technicalities & specifications, a cigarette is a small cylinder of finely cut tobacco leaves rolled in thin paper for smoking; derived from the French for “small cigar” & Cigar comes through the Spanish. Most modern manufactured cigarettes are filtered & include reconstituted tobacco & other additives.

Smoking is one of the most common forms of recreational drug, a practice in which a substance, most commonly tobacco, is burned & the smoke is tasted or inhaled. Several other smoking implements include pipes, cigars, bidis, hookahs, vaporizers etc.

A cigarette is distinguished from a cigar by its smaller size, use of processed leaf & paper wrapping, which is normally white. Cigars are typically composed entirely of whole-leaf tobacco.

The key ingredient that makes cigarettes more addictive is the inclusion of reconstituted tobacco, which has additives to make nicotine more volatile as the cigarette burns. Synthetic particulate filters remove some of the tar before it reaches the smoker.

A recipe-specified combination of bright leaf, burley-leaf and oriental-leaf tobacco will be mixed with various additives to improve its flavours. Various additives are combined into the shredded tobacco product mixtures, as well as flavouring products & enhancers such as cocoa, solids, licorice, tobacco extracts & various sugars, which are known collectively as “casings”.

Additionally, they replace lost flavours due to the repeated wetting and drying used in processing the tobacco. Finally the blended tobacco mixture will be filled into cigarettes tubes & packaged. This process of converting bound nicotine molecules in tobacco smoke into free nicotine molecules, by use of chemicals like ammonia, is known as “freebasing”, which enhances the effect of the nicotine on the smoker.

The history of smoking can be dated to as early as 5000 BC, & has been recorded in many different cultures across the world. In the 19th century, the practice of smoking opium became common. Previously it had only been eaten primarily for its medical properties.

The movement in Nazi Germany did reach across enemy lines during the Second World War, as anti-smoking groups quickly lost popular support. By the end of the Second World War, American cigarette manufacturers quickly reentered the German black market. Illegal smuggling of tobacco became prevalent & leaders of the Nazi anti-smoking campaign were brutally assassinated.

The paper for holding the tobacco blend may vary to allow ventilation of the burning ember or contain materials that control the burning rate of the cigarette & stability of the produced ash. The papers used in tipping the cigarette (forming the mouthpiece) & surrounding the filter stabilize the mouthpiece from saliva & moderate the burning of the cigarette as well as the delivery of smoke with the presence of one or two rows of small laser-drilled air holes.

The burn rate of cigarette paper is regulated through the application of different forms of micro crystalline cellulose to the paper. Cigarette paper has been specially engineered, which have a reduced idle burning speed which allows them to self-extinguish.

The process of blending, composed mainly of shredded tobacco leaf, use a significant quantity of tobacco processing by-products in the blend, gives the end product a consistent taste from batches of tobacco grown in different areas of a country that may change in flavor profile from year to year due to different environmental conditions.

The most common tobacco by-products include:

Blended Leaf (BL) Sheet: A thin, dry sheet cast from a paste made with tobacco dust collected from tobacco stemming, finely milled burley-leaf stem etc.

Reconstituted Leaf (RL) Sheet: A paper-like material made from recycled tobacco fines, tobacco stems & “class tobacco”, which consists of tobacco particles less than 30 mesh in size (0.599 mm approx) that are collected at any stage of tobacco processing.

Expanded (ES) or Improved Stems (IS): ES are rolled, flattened, & shredded leaf stems that are expanded by being soaked in water & rapidly heated.

The common name for the remains of a cigarette after smoking is a “cigarette butt”. The butt typically comprises about 30 percent of the cigarette’s original length. It consists of a tissue tube which holds a filter & some remains of tobacco mixed with ash. After a cigarette is smoked, the butt is capable of retaining some of the chemicals & parts of them are carcinogenic.

Cigarette filters are made from cellulose acetate & are biodegradable. Accordingly, the duration of the degradation process is cited as taking as little as one month to three years to as long as 10 to 15 years. This variance in rate and resistance to biodegradation in many conditions is a factor in waste, debris & environmental damage. Smoldering cigarette butts have also been prone for triggering fires from residential fires to major wildfires & bushfires.

The most popular type of substance that is smoked is ‘Tobacco’. There are many different tobacco cultivars which are made into a wide variety of mixtures & brands. Tobacco is often sold flavored, often for use with water pipes, such as hookahs.

The second most common substance that is smoked is ‘Cannabis’, made from the flowers or leaves of Cannabis indica or sativa. The substance is considered illegal in most countries in the world. Since cannabis is illegal or only tolerated in most jurisdictions, there is no industrial mass-production of cigarettes, meaning that the most common form of smoking is with hand-rolled cigarettes (often called joints) or with pipes. Water pipes are also fairly common & when used for cannabis is called ‘Bongs’.

Whether tobacco, cannabis, opium or herbs, some form of receptacle is required along with a source of fire to light the mixture. The most common today is by far the cigarette, consisting of a tightly rolled tube of paper, which is usually manufactured industrially or rolled from loose tobacco, rolling papers which can include a filter.

Other popular smoking tools are various pipes & cigars. A less common but increasingly popular form is through vaporizers, which operate using hot air convection by heating & delivering the substance without combustion; thereby decreasing health risks to the lungs.

Inhaling the vaporized gas form of substances into the lungs is a quick and very effective way of delivering drugs into the bloodstream (as the gas diffuses directly into the pulmonary vein, then into the heart & directly to the brain) & kicks the smoker within less than a second of the first inhalation.

The forms of automated cigarette-rolling apparatus can be construed as follows:

Electronic Cigarette:

Electronic Cigarette are an alternative to tobacco smoking, although no tobacco is consumed. It is a battery-powered device that provides inhaled doses of nicotine by delivering a vaporized propylene glycol/nicotine or vegetable glycerin/nicotine solution.

Most electronic cigarettes are designed to resemble actual tobacco smoking implements, such as cigarettes, cigars, or pipes, but many take the form of ballpoint pens or screwdrivers since those designs are more practical to house the mechanisms involved. Most are also reusable, with replaceable & refillable parts, but some models are disposable. Electronic cigarettes are nicotine delivery devices which closely resemble cigarettes, but produce vapour rather than smoke.

French Inhale

The French inhale is the action performed by smokers of expelling smoke from the mouth & inhaling it into the nostrils.

Hookah

Hookah is a single or multi-stemmed (often glass-based) water pipe for smoking. Originally from India!!.. The hookah was a symbol of pride & honour for the landlords, kings & other such high class people. A hookah operates by water filtration & indirect heat, used for smoking herbal fruits, tobacco, or cannabis.

Kretek

Kretek are cigarettes made with a complex blend of tobacco, cloves & a flavoring “sauce”. It was first introduced in the 1880s & the quality & variety of tobacco plays an important role in kretek production, from which kretek can contain more than 30 types of tobacco. Minced dried clove buds weighing about 1/3 of the tobacco blend are added to add flavoring.

Pipe smoking

Pipe Smoking typically consists of a small chamber (the bowl) for the combustion of the tobacco to be smoked & a thin stem (shank) that ends in a mouthpiece (the bit). Shredded pieces of tobacco are placed into the chamber & ignited. Tobaccos for smoking in pipes are often carefully treated & blended to achieve flavour nuances not available in other tobacco products.

Roll-Your-Own

Roll Your Own or hand-rolled cigarettes, often called “rollies” or “Roll-ups”, are very popular particularly in European countries & the UK. These are prepared from loose tobacco, cigarette papers & filters separately. They are usually much cheaper than ready-made cigarettes and small contraptions can be bought making the process easier.

Vaporizer

A Vaporizer is a device used to sublimate the active ingredients of plant material. Rather than burning the herb, which produces potentially irritating, toxic, or carcinogenic by-products; a vaporizer heats the material in a partial vacuum so that the active compounds contained in the plant boil off into a vapor. This method is often preferable when medically administrating the smoke substance, as opposed to directly paralyzing the plant material.

‘Passive Smoking’ is the inhalation of smoke, called Second-Hand Smoke (SHS) or Environmental Tobacco Smoke (ETS), by persons other than the intended ‘Active’ smoker. It occurs when tobacco smoke permeates any environment, causing its inhalation by people within that environment. Passive Smoking is usually involuntary consumption of smoked tobacco.

Second Hand Smoke from cigarettes has been shown to be injurious to bystanders, which has led to having banned the smoking in many workplaces & public areas. Second-hand smoke causes many of the same diseases as direct smoking, including cardiovascular diseases, lung cancer & respiratory diseases. The term “Third Hand Smoke” was recently coined to identify the residual tobacco smoke contamination that remains after the cigarette is extinguished & second-hand smoke has cleared from the air.

Several baseless yet countless reasons of smoking comprises of Addictive Smoking, pleasure from smoking, tension reduction, relaxation, social smoking, stimulation, casual habit etc. Some smokers argue that the depressant effect of smoking allows them to calm their nerves, often allowing for increased concentration. However, “Nicotine seems to provide both a stimulant & a depressant effect & it is likely that the effect it has at any time is determined by the mood of the smoker, the environment & the circumstances of consumption.

Undoubtedly & undisputedly, Cigarettes do carry serious health effects with them, which are more prevalent than in any other tobacco products. Nicotine, the primary psychoactive chemical in tobacco & therefore cigarettes, are addictive.

Statistically, about half of cigarette smokers die of tobacco-related disease & lose on average 14 years of life expectancy. Cigarette consumption by pregnant women has also been shown to cause birth defects, including mental & physical disabilities.

The inherent health hazards of smoking have been diseases including: Cancer (General, Lung, Breast, Pancreatic); Renal Cell Carcinoma (RCC); Brain Tumor; Asthma; Cognitive Impairment & Dementia; during Pregnancy (low birth weight, premature weight, skin disorders); Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS); Chronic diseases & Allergies; Impotency & infertility; Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) etc etc.

Environmental Tobacco Smoke can be evaluated either by directly measuring tobacco smoke pollutants found in the air or by using biomarkers, an indirect measure of exposure. Carbon Monoxide monitored through breath, nicotine, cotinine, thiocyanates & proteins are the most specific biological markers of tobacco smoke exposure.

Tobacco smoke exposure has immediate & prolonged substantial effects on blood & blood vessels in a way that increases the risk of a heart attack. Exposure to tobacco smoke for 30 minutes significantly reduces coronary flow velocity reserve in healthy nonsmokers.

Cotinine:

Cotinine, the metabolite of nicotine, is a biomarker of second-hand smoke exposure. Typically, cotinine is measured in the blood, saliva & urine. Hair analysis has recently become a new, noninvasive measurement technique. Cotinine accumulates in hair during hair growth, which results in a measure of long-term, cumulative exposure to tobacco smoke.

Urinary cotinine levels have been a reliable biomarker of tobacco exposure & have been used as a reference in many epidemiological studies. However, cotinine levels found in the urine only reflect exposure over the preceding 48 hours. Cotinine levels of the skin, such as the hair and nails, reflect tobacco exposure over the previous three months and are a more reliable biomarker.

Carbon Monoxide (CO):

Carbon Monoxide via breath is also a reliable biomarker of second-hand smoke exposure as well as tobacco consumption. With high sensitivity & specificity, it not only provides an accurate measure, but the test is also non-invasive, highly reproducible. Breath CO monitoring measures the concentration of CO in an exhalation in parts per million, and this can be directly correlated to the blood CO concentration (Carboxyhemoglobin).

Cigarette Smoking for weight loss is a practice dating to early knowledge of nicotine as an ‘Appetite Suppressant’. Tobacco use was associated with appetite suppression. Though smoking is widely discouraged by public health professionals for its countless negative health consequences, nicotine has been proven to be an appetite suppressant. Nicotine reduces appetite & can influence an individual’s eating habits.

Nicotine’s effects on appetite demonstrate that “net effects of nicotine include elevated blood pressure, heart rate, & gastric motility while eliciting a sustained decrease in food intake. Autonomic, sensory & enteric neurons each constitute potentially important for nicotine-mediated changes in feeding behavior.

Nicotine also can lower insulin levels in a person’s bloodstream, which can reduce cravings for sugary foods. Furthermore, “nicotine-triggered effects of adrenaline on the stomach’s musculature” lead to temporary feelings of subsided hunger. Other studies have shown that smokers expend more calories while engaged in activity, which concludes that smokers experience heightened metabolic rates.

Weight gain as a side effect of Smoking Cessation remains a major aspect of smoking & weight control. People can be discouraged by weight gain experienced while quitting smoking. Weight gain is a common experience during smoking cessation, with roughly 75% of smokers gaining weight after quitting. As nicotine is an appetite suppressant & smokers expend more energy, weight gain due to smoking cessation is generally attributed to increased caloric intake & a slowed metabolic rate.

Weight gain can be a deterrent in the smoking cessation process, even if many smokers did not smoke for weight control purposes. Those in the process of quitting smoking are recommended to follow a healthy diet and to exercise regularly. Most quitting advice encourages people to not be discouraged should they experience weight gain while quitting smoking, as the health benefits of quitting almost always exceed the costs of weight gain. Weight gain during the smoking cessation process can often be lost eventually through diet and exercise.

In the bottom line; World No Tobacco Day (WNTD) is observed around the world every year on ‘May 31’; since 1987. It is intended to encourage a 24-hour period of abstinence from all forms of tobacco consumption across the globe. The day is further intended to draw global attention to the widespread prevalence of tobacco use & negative health effects,

World Health Organization (WHO) has earmarked May 31 as ‘World No Tobacco Day’, to highlight the risks associated with tobacco usage and reduce its consumption; which is causing irreparable damage to our society and economy.

The day has also been used as a springboard for discussing the current and future state of a country as it relates to tobacco. For example, in India, (with 120 million smokers, has one of the highest rates of tobacco consumption in the world)

The theme of this year’s ‘World No Tobacco Day’ is ”Ban tobacco advertising, promotion & sponsorship.” The ban on any promotion of tobacco usage can bring down the incidence of diseases associated with tobacco usage significantly. It prohibits tobacco companies from sponsoring sports, music & other cultural events & also prevents the display of their logos or products on T-shirts, hats or other apparels.

One might have pride on the style of holding with two fingers; experimenting countless shapes & sizes of smoky rings, circles, chains, heart etc etc; but the ‘burnt ash coated fact’ lies, that having a puff, once, single or just countless times; will end off burning the ‘puffy life’ into ashes.

~Thank You~

P.S.: After this ‘heavy dose’ of ‘puff’….Better don’t look out for mouth fresheners, chewing gum etc to rinse out the ‘smoky words’!!…

TheWackyHeads
TheWackyHeads -

Lately in the Mid-October of 2011, as classes in college started to disappear away with the exhaustion of syllabus, I started to miss college deliberately to stay indoors, not because I caught pox but because I had to start studying for the upcoming pre-board exams in November, the predecessor of the not-so-dreadful board exams.

The pre-boards ended and I passed with a bit unsaturated colors because I had scored a mere 355/600. Life became bitter when parents heard these marks from my not-loyal friends. But I was confident that I could put that right but another problem lurked into my life.

I had gained 1.3 kg and my BMI grew up from 22.6 to 23.4 in 2 month’s time. I was the only one to blame for it and I decided that I will put that to right too. Mere crunching of my abdomen wouldn’t have flattened my plump tummy. Hence I added running to my routine.

I started off by running in a playground of fairly large size in my neighborhood where the local kids of all sizes played soccer, cricket and some oldies sat on the benches near the edges and chatted with their co-aged citizens sipping tea from the near-by Ramesh Bhai tea-stall.

In the initial days, I would run for 50-60 meters and then would stop and walk a few paces regaining breathe and perspiring heavily. Then another 30 meters and stop again. I found myself irritating and my running disgraceful owing to my lack of stamina. This continued for some days and then I brought my cell-phone to the field. I plugged in the earphone and played any random song and started running humming the tune of the song playing mentally decided ‘I won’t stop until I reach that part of the song or till that line’. It did help but after being a couch-potato for more than 2 months it was still difficult to run rhythmically for long periods.

Moreover the attention provided by 50-60 eyeballs in the field to the solitary runner was hugely embarrassing. Whenever I paused for breath, the oldies would sigh so deep as if I was India’s next Olympic marathon star and failed in my duty.

“He isn’t improving.”-I heard one oldie say to the other.

The Sachins and the Dhonis looked at me with a patronizing glare as if it was more respectful and tougher to hit a sixer than run around the field 6 rounds. About the Peles and the Maradonas, I was more than sure that they believed that I brought disgrace to their sacred and pure soccer field and was unfit enough even to be their goalie.

I set forth to search a route for me to run without being ogled by so many people. Rising early isn’t one of my good habits, so that was crossed out and I didn’t want to join a gym because it will have population. So I decided to choose the longest artificial treadmill laid down by the Govt. of India by some of my mom and dad’s taxes; the railway track that was right in the proximity of my house.

I boarded the evening 5pm train from Baripada station and traverse across to the Bhanjpur station in the other end of the town, a 2.9 kms distance. Getting down from there, I ran back to the main station. The simple process was to put your toes on every alternative sleeper in the forward direction. At each interval of 100 meters a white chunk-pillar has been erected by the Railways, so that acted as the performance scale.

Every day since the last 40 days, I board the train, take a seat with the emergency window and crane out my head to feel the fresh air, to look at the house’s rear sides facing the track, their bickering walls, the moss-covered exterior paints, the overflowing water from the tankers on the roofs of some. Somewhere a baddie court is set up and the rackets keep swinging even if the cork had been blown away due to the train’s impetus. Somewhere a level crossing, with bikes and autos constantly racing their throttle to keep the engines on, some idlers looking annoyingly at the train that caused them to get their ass out of the line and caused a gap in their gossip. Somewhere a granny with her grandson in her arms standing just to show the kiddo a glimpse of the monstrous locomotive.

On my way back, I find some trashed liquor bottles near the station, somewhere a dead cat or a dog and silently murmur a prayer for the peace of its soul, the idlers who mock-laugh at me, the baddie court that had been deserted for the day. The unstopping slow of traffic at the level crossing sites.

As I go on, the winter fog sets in heavily and I disappear into it like a black shadow merges into the darkness.

Alas now I have regained my BMI below 23 and my flat tummy. The exams are just 62 days away and I have to sit down to study again. Hope that I go a little fat once again and will be able to witness those walls with more moss or with a new coating of paint, the baddie court replaced by volley, the granny with the child replaced by the kiddo on his bicycle in the summers that are yet to come.

TheWackyHeads
TheWackyHeads -

Two girls were going to the university square. Another group of three boys were walking behind them. The 2 groups were not friendly. One could easily infer that from their gestures, the girls giving the boys an evil stare after every few seconds and a loud cheer of some objective’s accomplishment, a well-audible cheer by the boys after every such stare. Clearly, they were stalking and eve-teasing.

At one point, the boys came too close to overtaking the girls then the pot-bellied rascal among them put a hand forward telling them to check their speeds, so that they remain behind the girls. What leeches? They just get stuck at anything!!!! So stuck!!!

The girls noticing that they were going to persist at their tails, stopped at a shop on the pretext of having ice cream. The boys went a bit ahead and stopped at a recharge counter. After 10 minutes, as soon as the girls passed the counter, the boys were at their back again. The cheers, stares and comments continued.

As soon as the girls reached the crowded, bustling square; one of them turned back and yelled loudly
-“why the fuck are you following us? We aren’t whores like your sisters.”
The public couldn’t believe their ears and so couldn’t the boys. Things literally came to a standstill. People crowded and then among all numbness; “SLAP SLAP!!” on the face of the pot-bellied rascal by the loud-mouthed girl.

Soon the public evacuated the girls, zeroed in on the 3 guys and what followed was a long ragging session of the guys by the local goons of the square, who usually do the same heinous act themselves.

P.S.- Never expect anybody to stand and fight for you, if you are well capable of it and unless you stand for yourself. Just begin it and see how the public joins in the killing. Nobody in India misses on an opportunity to harass or hit a guy if chance provided. And also given the current rage of people against “crimes against women”, the ragging and harassment can be very entertaining enough.
However please don’t misuse this great weapon of yours.
Be wise on where to counterattack.
Be brave.
Shed inhibitions and
Live independent.

TheWackyHeads
TheWackyHeads -

Sometimes He wonders If he can simply put an end to his random thoughts. Those random sentences in his head that drives him crazy even if he isn’t. Sometimes he wonders what might had happened if humans could have controlled their shackled thoughts, just grab the productive ones out, and ignore the unproductive ones. Can they? Thoughts, Inspirations, Imaginations are one of those factors that drive the society forward. To Imagine a world only of thinkers with productive thoughts, one can only Imagine a world progressing faster than any civilization with enormous amount of polymaths the Earth has ever witnessed. Imagine things next to impossible.

This is yet one of those nights, when thoughts rumble in his head. Boundless agony, frustration, annoyance that makes his mind to vomit them in form of randomly arranged letters that makes sense. For a moment his mind is a dark alley, a place covered with stinking filth everywhere. Yet they say it’s a gold mine. A mine that can produce more gold than even Midas can ever do. It is darkness. Absolute darkness. Just mumbling, some random voices shrieking out at their highest pitch to make him whine. As the walls of his consciousness trembles, he feels horrified. He fears the scared himself more. He needs to put an end to thinking, stop those sporadic thoughts. He is not bipolar, nor Schizophrenic, He can stop them, Yes! He can.

But alas! Reality shouts that he cannot.

Bygone are those days, when his imagination contained of a colored world, those eyes that turned bewildered every time they saw a new object. That infinite unsustainable curiosity that did drive his enthusiasm infinitely insane to know more about itself. Bygone are those days when he wondered where Rainbow begins from, or why the water doesn’t travel upwards. As the Wide oggly eyes of amazement have paralyzed themselves to perfunctory ones. As his mind embraced the trauma of adulthood. In the midst of darkness those eyes now search for a hint of light, they need peace, they need something serene, they need an inspiration.

He is afraid that his ambitions are weak. That even with the slightest of a quake it shall destroy it like a House of cards. He wonder’s if his life shall remain as dull as it is, always. He quotes himself of Albert Camus. He believes that in the midst of winter, he shall find the invisible summer within him. He tries to keep calm, but his ruthless head doesn’t let him to do so. Tired, he throws his books to the edge of his table. Frustrated deep down, he inserts the pen to his cap with infinite precision. He wonders if he can scourge back to the past to steal his own thoughts. Thoughts that really made him happy. As all his attempts towards a silent mind goes futile with every passing second, He wants to yell, to scream and shout the ongoing thoughts in his head, to push them out of his own body like tiny droplets of sweat. Unbearable negativity, this is it.

With an indefinite number of thoughts oozing, most of them out of which he thinks does not matter even the slightest , he longs for peace. Famished and devastated he silently sinks in his bed, as he turns off the light to embrace darkness physically. The noise of the fan that keeps on rotating above his head sounds more sweet when compared to his own voice. He tries to lose himself in it. He tries again and again, as it only aggravates his situation further.

The more he yields to his unfathomable thoughts, the more ambivalent he becomes. He wonders if he is in fact in a war with the self within him. He wonders if the thoughts of vendetta against his own thoughts are justifiable. He wonders if he shall avoid them forever if he could. He just wonders, as he stares into the dark sky full of stars, with a vacant mind.

TheWackyHeads
TheWackyHeads -

Sometimes I get a feeling “how much had I missed out on?”, when I moved to T.S.O.L. from St. Anne’s and came back to join M.P.S. instead of St. Anne’s, when I decided to join M.P.C. Junior College instead of K.V. or other colleges outside Baripada. I think what would have happened if I were studying engineering or medicine or doing a photojournalism course in some media institute instead of learning spectroscopy and differential equations in M.P.C. Autonomous College.

Sometimes, I envy my father’s patience, his ability. How patiently he thinks about a matter before penning down 2 lines about it. But I hate it that his patience is so temporary and short-lived, that he gets disturbed by the slightest of provocation and distraction. I envy his perennial seriousness. I envy the gravity of his writing. In contrast to his, my writing seems so momentary and cheap.

Sometimes I think what would have happened if I had been an off-the-hook-extrovert, if I were not single now and had a good supply of pocket money from my parents. But alas! It’s not possible. What would have been if I had been this and that? How better or how worse could have I been than my present?

At all times else, I feel whatever is happening to me is out of my control, only I’m under my control. Every decision I make has some goodness attached to it and some bad. I learned the thrill of hostel life, became responsible (to some extent) in T.S.O.L., came to M.P.S. to people who would spur me to write, joined M.P.C. junior so as to be free of rote learning, to learn some things that will stick to me forever, joined M.P.C. Autonomous so as to continue my learning on that template cause it’s so liberating. Every decision of mine does me some good even if it does more harm. Had I been in a medical college, I would have been slogging hard 16-17 hours a day (may be), where would have I found time and motivation to write crap such as these. I would probably be writing biological thesis.

Life’s momentary as my writing. It’s to be lived and enjoyed and then understood if anything remains of it after that. Now my mind is young as my age. The pieces I’m writing now may seem like absurd frivolous jokes to me years later when I have a thing gained called experience (not weight…). Maybe then I will meditate for hours gazing at the mirror or the wall before I write a word. I guess words will become obsolete then. But at least I won’t be a hypocrite as my father (as I sometimes think he is). I feel his deep meditation on the opposite wall or the ceiling fan is a hood which he uses to hide from his domestic responsibilities. And that he never finishes a piece of writing, always stopping midway and when asked for the cause, cites the disturbance of family members as the 1st one. At least I do finish my pieces be they momentary and weightless…I don’t want to be him. But I want his gravity.

I guess whatever is to happen, will happen; I can only wait. Till then, let me live, live and fucking live.
